چکیده

The identification of materials by measuring and analyzing their reflectance spectra has been an important method used in analytical chemistry for decades. Now, airborne and space-based imaging spectrometers give scientists the opportunity to detect materials and map their distributions across the landscape. With new satelliteborne sensor planned for the future, for example HYSPIRI (HYPerspectral InfraRed Imager), robust methods are needed to fully exploit the information content in hyperspectral remote sensing data. Careful processing of laboratory, field, and remote sensing data is required to produce high quality spectra of materials of unknown composition which can be compared with spectral standards for identification. In this paper, an ENVI/IDL (ENvironment for Visualizing Images/Interactive Data Language) based software package called PRISM (Processing Routines in IDL for Spectroscopic Measurements) is described. Among its many functions, PRISM contains routines for the storage of spectra in database files, importation of field spectra, correction of field spectra to absolute reflectance, arithmetic operations on spectra, interactive continuum removal and comparison of absorption features, calibration of imaging spectrometer data to reflectance using field-measured spectra, identification and mapping of materials using spectral feature based analysis of reflectance data in an expertsystem framework, and import/export of ENVI spectral library files. PRISM has been used to calibrate image cubes and map materials for the full-country coverage of HyMap data collected in 2007 over the country of Afghanistan. The PRISM software will be released to the general public by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

An IDL/ENVI implementation of the FFT-based algorithm for automatic image registration

Georeferencing images is a laborious process so schemes for automating this process have been under investigation for some time. Among the most promising automatic registration algorithms are those based on the fast Fourier transform (FFT). The displacement between two given images can be determined by computing the ratio F1 conjðF2Þ=jF1F2j; and then applying the inverse Fourier transform. The ...

Mineral Mapping Based on Automatic Detection of Multiple Absorption Features

In comparison with multispectral image data, hyperspectral (HS) imagery with higher spectral resolution provides sufficient spectral resolution to describe diagnostic absorption signatures. Specific chemical bonds in materials, whether solid, liquid or gas, determine the surface reflectance and emittance, as variations in material composition often cause shifts in the position and shape of abso...

A Method for Unsupervised Change Detection and Automatic Radiometric Normalization in Multispectral Data

Based on canonical correlation analysis the iteratively re-weighted multivariate alteration detection (MAD) method is used to successfully perform unsupervised change detection in bi-temporal Landsat ETM+ images covering an area with villages, woods, agricultural fields and open pit mines in North RhineWestphalia, Germany. A link to an example with ASTER data to detect change with the same meth...

Application of IDL and ENVI Redevelopment in Hyperspectral Image Preprocessing

In the last few years, hyperspectral imaging technique has had a bright future for application on nondestructive detection of agricultural products. However, in experiment, there are usually dozens or even hundreds of hyperspectral images. It needs to spend lots of time in preprocessing all the hyperspectral data. Software ENVI is a kind of image processing software, although the users can defi...
